If you’re prepared to show tea time into cocktail hour, a group of Minnesota tea fans and mixologists have some inspiration to share with you, from infused spirits to tea syrups and bitters.

According to Cocktail Master Jesse Held, the refined flavors of spirits like gin meld completely with the intricacies of tea. “A lot of the subtleties of tea play well off of specifically gin, because gin has a lot of the same characteristics as the tea,” says Held.

David Duckler of Verdant Tea is a specific fan of mixing pu-erh and aged single-malt Scotch. “They [both]start out really wild and untamed and they get smoother, deeper, and richer over time,” he says.
