Earthy notes of rooibos tea mix with candy, crisp apples and pears on this tackle a conventional applesauce. Sweetened with honey, it’s a pure snack, aspect dish or dessert your loved ones will love!

  • Peeled and Cored Mixed Apples – Approx. 1/Four of a bushel
  • Approximately 6 tsp. flavored rooibos of selection
  • 2 Bosc (or related pear) peeled and cored
  • Four cups filtered water
  • Honey
  • Vanilla
  • Large inventory pot
  • Potato masher or hand blender (relying on texture you favor)
  • Water bathtub and canning provides (elective)

Yields Approx. 4 Quarts


  1. Brew Four cups of flavored rooibos. This must be sturdy. Brew for 20 min.
  2. Peel, core and reduce apples and pears into 1-2 inch cubes
  3. Combine rooibos, pears, and apples in inventory pot. Cover and prepare dinner on excessive warmth for approx. 15 min. (cautious to stir so it won’t boil over). Remove lid and proceed to stir. Use a potato masher to assist break down the apples. If you want a chunkier sauce a potato masher works, if you happen to like a thinner sauce use a hand blender. Continue to prepare dinner the combination right down to the consistency you favor for applesauce. On excessive warmth for a thicker sauce it will probably take 45 minutes, stirring usually, to forestall burning.
  4. Once applesauce is the consistency you favor, take a tablespoon full and put aside to chill so as to taste. Then add honey to sweeten to taste. Start in 1/Four cup increments! When utilizing Vanilla Rooibos, I put 2 tbsp. of vanilla and half cup of honey and the applesauce tastes like cream soda!
  5. Preserve as you would like – applesauce will freeze, it will also be scorching water bathtub canned. Let cool if you’ll eat straight away and luxuriate in!!!
